What is a Discovery Tour?
A Discovery Tour is a guided scouting trip designed to help future expats explore a destination, understand daily life, and evaluate whether it’s the right fit for them.
Do I have to pay the full price upfront?
No! You can reserve your spot with a 10% deposit and pay the balance later. Full payment is due 7 days before departure. If you need flexibility, just let us know—we’re happy to work with you!
Who are these tours for?
My tours are for anyone considering moving abroad—whether you’re a solo traveler, a family, a remote worker, or a retiree.
Can I come on a Discovery Tour if I’m still deciding where to move?
Absolutely! Many of our guests haven’t chosen a country yet—that’s the whole point of the tour. You’ll experience real life in a new country, meet expats who’ve already made the move, and get clarity on whether it’s the right fit for you.
How long are the tours?
Most tours are 7-10 days, but we also offer extended options for those who want a deeper dive.
Do you offer 1:1 or family tours?
Yes. We can go over your country of choice and preferred travel dates and create a custom experience. This tour costs the same as a regular tour with the same number of days + $300 pp or + $500 per family. To create your custom experience book a Free 15 min tour call with me.
What’s included in the tour price?
The tour price includes accommodations, welcome dinner, guided tours, meetings with local experts, and some meals. Check the specific tour page for details.
*Some tours may include limited airfare and ferry tickets
Will we attend a local festival?
Where available, I will try to get us into a local festival. Festival tickets may be included in price of the tour.
What’s not included?
Flights, travel insurance, and personal expenses are not included unless otherwise specified.
Logistics & Planning
Do I need a visa to join the tour?
Not for entry to the destination countries on the tour schedule. As of January 2025, an E.T.A. is required for any travel or layover through the UK, it cost about $13 and is valid for 2 years and allows for multiple entries, and approvals can take up to 3 days. As of May 2025, the EU will introduce the E.T.I.A.S. ,required for stays up to 90 days within the EU, it costs about $8 and is valid for up to 3 years or until your passport expires (whichever comes first)
What should I pack for the tour?
I recommend traveling with a carry on and a large tote for your personal item, and packing comfortable clothing, walking shoes, a notebook, and any personal essentials. A detailed packing list will be provided after booking.
Can I bring my family or pets?
Families are welcome! For pets, please check the destination’s import laws and let me know in advance so I can assist with arrangements.
What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?
Let me know in advance, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.
Is travel insurance required?
Yes, I recommend purchasing travel insurance to cover unexpected cancellations, medical emergencies, or other issues.
Financial & Booking Questions
What’s your cancellation policy?
While the policy is non-refundable, you may use any funds paid for the tour towards any other tour or future tour, or transfer to a friend or family member.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, flexible payment plans are available to make the tour more accessible. Make a 10% initial payment deposit and pay the rest in installments of up to 6 months.
Are there discounts for groups or early bookings?
Yes, I offer early bird discounts and group rates. Check the tour page for current promotions.
Can I book a private or custom tour?

Tour Experience
What will I learn on the tour?

Will I have free time during the tour?
Yes, I have build free time into the itinerary so you can explore on your own or relax.
What if I don’t speak the local language?
No problem! Our guides are fluent in English and the local language, and we’ll help you navigate language barriers.
How do I get around during the tour?
We will be doing quite a bit of walking. Using public transportation such as busses, metros, trams, trolleys, trains, taxis, and Bolt are part of the tour experience to teach you how to navigate these in the city and from city to city. We will be doing this together as a group.

What happens after the tour?
We offer post-tour support, including follow-up calls, resources, and connections to local experts to help you with your move.
Can I book a follow-up consultation?
Yes, I offer one-on-one consultations to help you plan your relocation or answer additional questions.

Do you offer tours in countries not listed on your website?

How much is a custom or 1:1 tour?
Custom tours are the same price of a regular tour of the same length of time + $300 for 1 person or + $500 per family / PER TOUR
Tour Prices:
7 day tour: $2,000 pp
10 - 12 day tour: $2,200 pp
Ex. a) 1 person booking for a 7 day tour at regular price: $2,000 + $300 = $2,300 total
b) 2 people booking for a 7 day tour at regular price: $4,000 + $500 = $4,500
Can I join a tour if I’ve already moved abroad?
Absolutely! Our tours are also great for expats who want to explore a new region or get a fresh perspective on their current location
